Computing
At All Saints, we strive to provide our children with an exciting, innovative and relevant education in Computing that equips them with skills and knowledge to become budding computer scientists now and in the future. From EYFS to Year 6, the progression of skills embedded in our curriculum supports children to use ever-developing technology safely and effectively, both as a tool for learning and also as a means of ensuring their future in a continuously evolving digital workplace. In each year group, programmes of learning thoroughly meet the objectives of the national curriculum with regular opportunities for children to apply their computational thinking and creativity in different, relevant digital contexts. Our units of work are categorised into aspects of Digital Literacy, Computer Science and Information Technology. We also endeavour to extend children’s leaning across the curriculum via cross-curricula projects and the utilisation of technology in all subjects.
We realise that God’s fullness for us is shown in the gift of creation. This first value takes us back to God, the giver of abundant life. Now more than ever, our call to steward God’s creation is of upmost importance: not least to our young people. We focus on creating a community in which all are known, valued and given space to thrive and find abundance. From that secure base within a safe environment, we encourage our children to look out to the world with compassion. With the skills they have learnt, they can take the abundance of their education out to life beyond our school grounds, with the confidence to speak out and excel.
